SHORT TRAINING
Creating and tracking an invoice
Training video coming soon
The finished video will include captions, a transcript and a non-autoplay fallback.STEP BY STEP
Follow the process
- 01
Create the invoice
Choose the correct business and customer, then create an invoice as a draft.
- 02
Complete the details
Add the invoice dates and line items, and review totals and VAT treatment where applicable.
- 03
Check the draft
Review the draft before issue. Editing an existing draft does not consume a new monthly issuance allowance.
- 04
Issue when ready
Issue the invoice only after the details are correct. Issued invoices count towards any monthly allowance on the plan.
- 05
Use the invoice record
View the invoice and its PDF, then use its status and balance to track what is still owed.
USEFUL TIPS
A few things worth checking
- Use a clear line-item description for each charge.
- Check dates and customer details before issue.
- Record payments against the relevant invoice so its balance remains useful.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Where people can get stuck
Does a draft count towards my allowance?
No. The monthly allowance counts issued invoices, not drafts or edits to an existing draft.
What happens if the allowance is reached?
You can still view and work with existing records. New quota-consuming issuance waits until the next period or a plan upgrade.
